LITTLE SOLITUDES

“Life is made of small solitudes,” Barthes wrote.

Inner withdrawals, chosen isolations, voluntary states of exposure that reconcile us with what Deleuze described as “experimentation on oneself, with our singular identity, our only alternative among all the combinations that inhabit us.” What Katz called “positive solitude.”

This is my position — resolute and, of course, silent.
